Silicon ioi records working time in four different ways, plus clocking straight from the “Multi-agenda”. They all write to the same place — the operator’s clocking, its duration, its cost, what it was spent on — but they are not meant for the same people, nor for the same moment of the day. This chapter follows the manual “Time registering with Silicon ioi” (version 1.06): the setup first, which everything else depends on, then one page per application.
Read this first
None of these applications works until the person exists in Écranioi Staff and is active there, and until Écranioi Division states which documents may be clocked on. The usual work centre is optional: the manual asks you not to set it by default for someone who allocates their work to several centres. See Setting up time registering.
Which application fits your situation #
| Your situation | The application to use |
|---|---|
| You work in the workshop, around a shared tablet next to the machines. You identify yourself with a badge, an RFID card or a barcode, and you scan the file or the production you are starting on. | ioi Workshop clocking |
| You work inside the software all day, at your desk. A small window follows the running time without taking you away from the screen you are on. | Live clocking |
| You are on the move — site visit, call-out, on the road — with a smartphone or a tablet of your own. | ioi Pocket Clocking |
| Your day is already laid out as appointments. The time is taken from the appointment itself, in one go, when you confirm it. | Clocking via the "Multi-agenda" |
| You enter hours after the fact — your own, or a whole team’s if you run the back office — several days at a time, in a grid. | ioi Quick Clocking |
Stopwatch, or entry after the fact #
This is the real dividing line, and it decides everything else.
- The three stopwatches — “ioi Workshop clocking”, “Live clocking”, “ioi Pocket Clocking” — measure time while it passes. You start, you pause, you resume, you stop. An incident can be reported when stopping.
- The two after-the-fact entries — “Multi-agenda” and “ioi Quick Clocking” — record a duration that is already known. There is no pause and no resume: the clocking goes straight to the “Posted” state.
More than one at a time
Nothing says you have to pick only one. A workshop can clock on a tablet while mobile technicians use “ioi Pocket Clocking” and the back office corrects the week in a grid on Friday — all three feed the same clockings.
