We have a range of classic bikes, a range of electric bikes, a whole range of parts to build them, but also replacement items.

The most important thing is to define :

  • The unique identifier.

This must be in upper case and of reasonable length. We recommend no more than 18 characters. If you wish to scan a barcode directly with this ID (which is often the case), we advise against allowing spaces or exotic characters.

  • Management unit.

This defines the fundamental handling or processing unit. This is the storage unit. See the units defined in ioi Item Unit.

  • Item management mode.

Attention

Once chosen and used, it will no longer be possible to change or go back. You’ll have to transfer the contents of one article to another to change the mode.

There are 4 basic article management modes:

  1. Normal mode, quantities are counted down/counted up during transactions in stock movement documents. At all times, it is forbidden to go below zero. A trace in the movement table shows the history of transactions carried out.

  2. Virtual mode, quantities are not managed in stock. However, a trace in the movement table shows the history of transactions carried out. This gives you an exact idea of the volume of transactions.

  • This mode can be used to carry out transactions for items where there is a problem in one of the transaction flows. Quantities are received, but never taken out of storage or delivered.

3. **Batch mode. Each quantity received is grouped into a set of batches, which are numbered and traced in the stock movements. This means that all stock movements must also define which batch is moved, or from which batch I pick (or complete). This ensures traceability in stock management. 4. The “SN serial number” or per item mode. When an item managed as a serial number is received, it is assigned a serial number. This means that all stock movements must additionally define which serial number is moved. This ensures traceability in inventory management. With notions of warranty, repair, exchange and return.
