Stock Stamp – ioi Stock Stamp

Stock variation calculation in Silicon ioi requires careful setup and execution.

To simplify this process, the ioi Stock Stamp module offers a lightweight alternative to the standard period-based valuation system.

General Functionality #

The ioi Stock Stamp module captures an instantaneous snapshot of your stock (quantities + values) at a specific moment in time.

Unlike the standard valuation method based on accounting periods, this snapshot does not consider backdated documents.

Difference Compared to Classic Stock Variation #

Unlike the ioi Stock Variation module, which can reconstruct the stock status at the end of a given period P based on the situation in P-1 — accounting for all documents assigned to period P (including backdated ones) — the ioi Stock Stamp module only captures the current state at time T, with no retroactive logic.

Available Modules #

Snapshot Scheduling #

The Warehouse Stock Stamp Scheduler module allows you to define how often stock snapshots should be taken (both quantity and value).

At the End of Each Month #

• Enable the Run next day option:
  • Allows execution early in the morning on the 1st day of the following month.
  • Useful if you run backups during the night — the snapshot won’t interfere with those operations.
  • If the execution occurs before 05:00, the reference date will still be the last day of the previous month.

On a Fixed Day of the Week #

• Choose a specific day (e.g., every Sunday)

On Demand (Manual Mode) #

→ A user can manually trigger a snapshot at any time from the interface.

Automatic Cleanup of Snapshot Details #

Detailed stock snapshots (per item, location, batch/SN) can take up considerable database space.

• A setting allows you to automatically delete details after a certain retention period.
• Only the summarized snapshot will be retained.

Using Stock Snapshots #

Captured data can be used in Business Intelligence (BI) tools:

• Summarized snapshot per warehouse
• Detailed snapshot by item, location, batch, and serial number

Using a Snapshot to Start Stock Variation #

When activating the stock variation module (ioi Period), you can use a previously recorded stock snapshot as your opening base.

• This avoids having to fully recalculate historical stock values
• The switch to period-based stock valuation becomes much simpler
