Working with copanions (with me)

Introduction #

“With me” or Companions are items that must be attached to certain items for sale or included in a document according to certain criteria.

“With me” or Companions linked to Items for sale :
Examples :
-A printer cable that must be delivered with a printer.
-A tax that must be added to an Item.
- “With me” or document-linked Companions:
Examples :
-If the order amount is too low to qualify for free delivery, a shipping charge item is added.
-If the Order value is high, transport insurance is required.
Setting up #
- Create “With me” or Companion items with their Sales prices.
From the ioi Items module, create items and specify their Sales prices in the same catalog as the items which will use these Companions.
Example :
For a retail Companion: “Taxe récupel” for battery chargers.
Astuce
In this case, it’s a tax, so the item is in virtual mode. Also, no discount is applicable on this tax, so the No fin disc. field is checked in the Sales prices.

For a From document Companion: Postage not included if the order is less than 120 EUR.

2. Definition of Companion sets (“With me”).
From the ioi With me module, assign a unique identification to each set of Companions. This allows you to define a list of “Companion Items” to be included.
Example :
For a retail Companion: From the ioi With me module.
→ Define the rule that will trigger the appearance of this set (use a SQL-type query). If the query applies to details, the {QTY} codification can be used to indicate the quantity in a line.
Example :
For a document Companion: From the ioi With me module.
→ Define the rule that triggers the appearance of this set using a SQL-type query on the document header fields.
3. If it’s a retail Companion, associate the Companion with an Item rate for these sets.
The association is made at Sales prices level. This makes it possible, for example, to use or not use “With me” elements depending on the catalog chosen, like the country sales catalogs. With me" items are applied according to Country.

4. If it’s a document Companion, associate the “With me with” a Delivery condition (which can be defined by default in a Log) and/or a Customer.

Usage #
With me" or Companions are included in the sales chain once you leave the In preparation state. However, they are automatically added when saving the document if you are in delivery notes.

Here’s a document with a “taxe récupel” applied to a detail item.

Astuce
The “With me” creation rules do not apply to lines from upstream documents, such as Order lines from Offer lines or Invoice lines from Delivery lines. This prevents duplication.
Example :
Here’s a document with shipping fees added because the order amount is less than 120 EUR. In the Order, the defined Delivery condition is mentioned.

Astuce
When you Revert to the In preparation state, the Companions remain in place. However, when you leave this state again, all Companions are deleted and recreated to match the new situation.
