In this module, you can define the currencies used by the system.
Attention
For the system currency (e.g. EUR), exchange rates must be set to 1. Serious errors and inconsistencies will inevitably occur if this is not the case. Be sure to check which currency is defined in the general configuration. Do not change the system currency after start-up. Serious errors and inconsistencies will be inevitable.
Astuce
Use existing ISO codes for identifiers. Do not use $ or € symbols. They can be used and are available in the ‘symbol’ field for use in reports.
Decimal #
- Standard: Set here the number of decimal places for totals rounding.
- Additional: Set here the number of decimal places for calculating the rounding of unit prices after discount. See rounding calculation mode in documents (sales settings and purchasing settings).
- Additional total: For line-by-line rounding of totals with additional decimal places. See rounding calculation mode in documents (sales setup and purchasing setup).
3 different rates #
The system provides you with 3 rates. You can either set exactly the same rates in all three cases, or you can set different rates to implement a buying and/or selling margin on currency conversion. These rates are expressed in normal and inverse (Divide / Multiply).
Astuce
When a document is created (in Buy or Sell mode), the rate is retrieved from this module and stored in the document for use. You therefore have the historical price used in each document. Rules for retrieving the daily price are possible in a buy or sell flow. See journal settings.
The update buttons fetch today’s price individually.
Astuce
- An automated backend process to fetch daily prices is available with margin rules for buy and sell prices. See backend processes.
- We advise you to deactivate unused currencies.
- We recommend periodically checking automated updates to see if they are working properly.
