ioi Report Builder - which framework is used? #

Silicon ioi uses the ReportBro framework to generate reports in PDF and XLSX format. Report templates can be created using ReportBro’s integrated “Designer” functionality, accessible from Silicon ioi.

How to use a print format? #

  • Click on the print button.

  • A window appears, asking you to select the print format to be used.

  • If the print template selection window is empty, this means that no print template is configured for use from this module.

  • In this case, you’ll need to create a print template in the ioi Report module.

Family #

The Family feature allows you to classify different print formats. To add or modify families, go to the ioi Report Family section.

Type #

Type is the print format description. It is possible to have several print formats for the same family.

Language #

Selects the language of the document layout to be generated.

Document generation #

Press the Print button to print the document in the specified language.

Then use your web browser’s functions to print and save the generated document.

How do I configure a print template? #

To create a print template, go to the ioi Report module and press the Add ioi Report button.

Either search for the ioi Report List module in the Silicon ioi search bar, or find the module in the ioi Configuration - Reporting section.

In the ioi Report module, use the Add ioi Report button to create a new print format.

→ The configuration window for a new print format will appear.

This configuration window has several tabs: Main - Output - Questions - Files Link.

Main #

In this section, you’ll find all the options for making the print format available in Silicon ioi.

  • Report Name: The internal name of the print format you wish to assign (its identification).

  • Doctype : The name of the doctype in which the print format will be available.

  • Type view : The view type from which the print format will be available.

  • Family : To classify the print format.

Other classifications can be created from the ioi Report Family module.

  • Type : Description of print format

  • Group : This field can be used to enter additional information about the print format. Example: file version, evaluation, to be validated,…

Among the Options :

  • Enabled : Check to make the print format available to users.

  • Attachment : Check to enable the use of linked documents.

  • Bulk printing : Check to enable this print format to be used in multi-selection list mode.

Data Source : Specify which data source to use in the print format.

Data Source Query to define whether the print format is based on a self-created SQL query.

In the case of a Data Source Query configuration, it is necessary to specify a SQL query and the result of this SQL query will be used as the data source for the print format layout.

Data Source DocType if the print format is to be based on DocType data.

In the case of a Data Source DocType configuration, a value must be entered in the Test Document section. This document will be used as the data source for the print format layout.

Output #

In this section you’ll find all the options for configuring the file generated by executing the print format.

Format": Allows you to specify the type of file generated (PDF by default).

Filename : Used to specify the name of the file to be generated. Don’t forget to specify its extension (.pdf in this example).

The file name can use any variable available when generating the printout.

Example : The variables _{system.xxx}, _{company.xxx} and _{master.xxx}.

To consult the list of usable variables, see the Reporting help section, available by pressing the ? button.

 

Destination : Specifies whether the file is to be generated for download or emailed directly.

→ If the destination is in Email mode, further options are available to allow configuration of the mail to be sent.

Recipients : The e-mail recipient

CC Recipients : The copied recipient

Recipients BCC : The masked copy recipient

Multiple recipients are possible, just separate addresses with a ;.

The _{system.xxx}, _{company.xxx} and _{master.xxx} variables can also be used to populate the Recipients section.

Email template : Allows you to select a predefined e-mail layout.

To configure the layout of a predefined e-mail, see the Email Template module.

Questions #

In this section you’ll find the ability to add questions that will be asked of users during print generation.

Answers to these questions can be used to act on the data source (if the data source is in Query mode) or to act on layout elements of the print format.

This section lets you configure the behavior of linked documents during print generation.

How do I create/modify a layout? #

For a new print format that doesn’t yet have a layout, or for a print format with an existing layout, you need to press the Edit report button to access the print format’s Designer tool.

Help #

Displays reporting help such as variable information.

Settings #

To return to print format configuration.

Document Structure #

Displays the structure of the data source.

This feature automatically uses all link fields between tables to retrieve information from peripheral tables and display it in the report.

Panel Settings #

This button accesses the user’s display settings panel.

Detail Panel Size : Sets the width of the property display.

Sidebar menu allows you to locate the toolbar on the side instead of at the top of the window.
