Google Drive integration

Introduction #

When you retrieve a document from your Google Drive, the system stores a link to it.\nYour files remain on Google Drive, but Silicon ioi knows how to use them.

Advantages:

• No usage of Silicon ioi’s hosting storage — no consumption of hosting disk space.
• Ultra-fast access.
• Secure access.
• Local synchronization of Google Drive on PCs or servers is possible.\nIdeal, for example, for storing design office drawings and accessing them directly within ioi, without having to download them.
• Another use case: pictures of sold products can be hosted on Google Drive and displayed in the eShop.

Once installed, a new icon is available for quick access.

Based on Frappe Framework #

This integration relies on the Frappe framework.\nOfficial documentation:\nhttps://docs.frappe.io/framework/user/en/integration/google_drive

Step 1 – Google Console Configuration #

You need:

• A Google account with an active Google Drive.
• Administrator access.

Go to the Google Cloud Console:\nhttps://console.cloud.google.com

1. Create a project #

• Log in and create a new project.

2. Create an API key for this project #

• Go to: https://console.cloud.google.com/apis/credentials/key/
• Save the Key ID — this value is important.

3. Create an OAuth Client #

• Go to: https://console.cloud.google.com/auth/clients

• Lors de la création du client, vous devez spécifier l’URL de callback de Frappe :

{url_du_site} {url_du_site}/api/method/frappe.integrations.doctype.google_settings.google_settings.google_callback

• Save the Client ID and Client Secret

4. Branding Configuration #

• Go to: https://console.cloud.google.com/auth/branding
• Add your authorized domain in the Branding section.

5. Retrieve the Project Number (App ID) #

• Go to: https://console.cloud.google.com/iam-admin/settings
• Copy the project number.

6. Authorize Users #

• Add the email addresses of the authorized users for this integration.
  • If your application is not published, add test users.
  • If published, add them as regular users.
• Go to: https://console.cloud.google.com/auth/audience

Étape 2 – Setup in Silicon ioi #

Return to Silicon ioi, and:

• Navigate to: /app/google-settings/Google Settings
• Enter the following values (retrieved from Google Console):
  • API Key ID
  • Client ID
  • Client Secret
  • Project Number (App ID)

You’re All Set #

You should now see a new icon in the tools menu, allowing you to link and manage files directly via Google Drive from within Silicon ioi.
