Sandboxing" or working in configuration, evaluation and test mode
Introduction #
Silicon ioi is connected cloud software. You run the risk of disturbing your colleagues, customers and strangers with test and fine-tuning messages.
You absolutely must switch your system to “Sandboxing” mode. This allows all e-mails sent by the system to be diverted to an e-mail address of your choice. In addition, the e-mail addresses of the actual recipients are moved to the beginning of the text body.
Who can activate this mode #
Users with the “System Manager” role.
Activation #
To configure “Sandboxing” mode, log on to Silicon ioi with a user holding the “System Manager” role.

Although this is a core setting, it has been deliberately placed at the application settings level. Because it’s often used by business analysts.
Then, from the “ioi General setting” module, go to the "Email sandboxing " section:
- Specify the deviation email address,
Astuce
We recommend that you add a prefix to the beginning of the subject line of diverted e-mails. This is very useful for identifying e-mails coming from a “Sandboxing” mode.
- Check the “Enabled” box,
- Save your changes.
Activation will be instantaneous for all new actions in this configuration, for all users and applications sending e-mails.
Back-end behavior #
Attention
- Some running processes may partially or not at all divert e-mails, as these backend processes only consult this mode at launch (or certain processes at regular intervals). We recommend interrupting backend processes and restarting them afterwards.
- Buttons for sending e-mail via external applications persist.

Be in “Sandboxing” mode #
You can tell at any time whether you’re in “Sandboxing” mode. A red dot will be visible in the top right-hand corner of your window.
Astuce
- Some interconnections take this mode into account by sending documents in “Sandboxing” mode. Please refer to the documentation for each interconnection.
- Activation is available in console mode for scripting, e.g. to automatically place a backup copy.
