General Configuration #

Barcode Prefix Configuration #

Allows identifying the type of action or search to trigger.

Attention

Note: The function prefix is not yet implemented.

Search Strategy #

Avoids the need to add prefixes to barcodes for certain documents.

  • The scanner first checks if a “fixed” prefix is recognized.
  • If no prefix is found, it enters the Search Strategy procedure, following the declared order.

Info

The character sequence [space]•[space] can be reconstructed when a / (slash) is detected in the barcode.

Astuce

Check the item sheet to configure scan behavior:

  • Scan qty : This setting defines the quantity added per item scan.
    • Exemple : If set to 2, each scan increments the quantity by 2.
    • Default: 0, which means each scan increases the quantity by 1.
  • Scan mode :
    • Fusion : Groups scans of the same item into a single line.
    • Distinct : Separates each scan of the same item into distinct lines.

First Startup #

Follow the instructions for setting up the device on first use:

  1. Select your language and click the Start button.
  2. Configure the SIM/eSIM if available, otherwise click Skip.
  3. Connect the device to Wi-Fi.
  4. Skip data copy from another device.
  5. Create and connect a Gmail account for this device (one account per device).
  6. Disable all Google services except updates.
  7. You may set an unlock code if needed. Normally, leave it empty and click Skip.
  8. Skip Hey Google and all voice assistants.
  9. Skip card payment setup.

Installing Silicon ioi on the Scanner #

  1. Open the Play Store and search for Silicon ioi.

  2. Click the icon to install it.

  3. Open all applications by swiping up.

  4. Once the app is found, hold the icon and drag it to the home screen to create a shortcut.

Scanner Configuration for the Application #

  • Open all applications by swiping up and search for theUSS Profile…app:
  • Add a new profile named ioi by clicking the red button.
  • Click on the new profile to modify it.

  • Associate the Silicon ioi application with this profile.

    → Select App Associations :

→ Click the red button, select Silicon ioi, and click Associate:

  • Go back and select Scanner Settings to check the parameters below:
  • Go back and select the barcode type viaSymbology Settings.
  • Go back and configure the scanner event via App Settings using the following parameters:

→ Set Intent Convey : Broadcast

→ Set Intent Action : com.siliconbrain.silicon_ioi_android.SCAN

→ Set Intent Extra : com.symbol.datawedge.data_string

  • Go back and check Append Settings.

→ Preamble, Posamble eand Terminator must be empty.

  • Return to the profile list and exit the program.
