Divisions allow you to divide your organization into
- Separate synchronization of financial processing.
For example, a division has distinct period openings and closings.
- Financial separation between two parts of your group.
Because the activity is common to several companies (material, customer, supplier) but for several distinct companies. Because the activity takes place in several countries, for example in the EC.

In a multi-company case, make as many divisions as there are sites for a total distinction between the two companies: because item costs are made per site.
Attention
- You need an additional license to add more divisions.
- You don’t know how to change a division’s identification once it’s in use.

Make the division identification short. Example ‘MN’ for Main, as this ID is used in period management.
Important : Associate a division with a company:
Main division checked “is main”. If you change the main division, the “action…” menu includes a function for changing the main division.
The settings in a division are relative to the number of counters for activity scores.
